29th Annual GSTA Muscle Car Shootout
The 29th Annual Muscle Car Shootout Labor Day weekend is an excellent way to cap off your summer, with wild drag racing and a crazy road racing lineup. It's the third and final drag race in the Muscle Car Series, featuring drag cars that can run 6-7 seconds at over 200 mph. This race will determine series champions, so the intensity level will be red-lining. The 2.5-mile Competition Road Course will be busy with the SCCA Jack Pine Sprints. Off track, fans will be treated to a classic car show, live music and more. On-site camping is available. One ticket gets you these great events and every ticket includes a pit pass. The 31st Annual PleasureLand RV Show & Go is a great Fourth of July tradition, offering fans a chance to see ridiculous head-to-head drag racing action as well as wide-open wheel-to-wheel racing on the 2.5-mile Competition Road Course. The event’s finale is the 100-mile, 40-lap Trans Am Series race Sunday. On the drag strip, the second race in the three-race Muscle Car Series features cars that can run over 200 mph! 5th Annual 10,000 Lakes Concours d'Elegance
The fifth annual 10,000 Lakes Concours d’Elegance will be held Sunday July 30, 2017 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. along the shores of Lake Minnetonka in historic Excelsior, Minn. This exceptional show will feature more than 180 historic, superbly-conditioned automobiles, watercraft and motorcycles. This year’s event will benefit Bridging. Concours d’Elegance is French for “competition of elegance.” Automobile, watercraft and motorcycle owners were required to apply in advance noting the historical significance of their vehicle. Each had to meet set criteria in order to participate. A panel of experienced vehicle aficionados will judge the participants with awards distributed in the afternoon. The public is also welcome to vote for the “People’s Choice” award. A variety of artists and entertainers will perform throughout the day, including the Minnesota SkyVault Theater Company from 11 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. The Rochester-based troupe specializes in improvisation, music, and audience participation. Tickets are $25 at the gate. Presale tickets are $20 and available at 10000lakesconcours.com. Free admission for kids 12 and under as well as military personnel with current ID. Beer and wine will be sold throughout the day along with delectable lunch fare. A free shuttle service will be provided from Minnetonka High School and street parking available. 7th Annual Step to INSPIRE 5K Walk, Run & Roll
On Saturday, September 16th, 2017 Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital will host the seventh annual ‘Step to INSPIRE’ 5K walk/run/roll, supporting Park Nicollet’s INSPIRE Program. This award winning program offers support groups and educational opportunities to stroke and brain injury survivors, their families and caregivers. INSPIRE also builds community awareness of stroke risk and symptoms and provides access to the Neurological Learning Center, an informational library for those affected by stroke, brain injuries and other neurological disorders. Step to INSPIRE will be held at Wolfe Park in St Louis Park, MN. There will be 5K and half mile courses available. The event will begin at 8:00 am with the 5K beginning at 9:30. There will be entertainment such as live music, face painting for children, and information regarding stroke risk and symptoms.
